I think this is so cool! Yesterday Governor Cuomo announced a new program called Pop Up NY which will feature big names from entertainment in "pop up" performances all over the State. There will be 300 of these events and they will not be advertised ahead of time. Each one will last about 20 minutes to a half hour so that crowd size stays small. Most of the events will be outdoors, and there are some big names attached to it. Hugh Jackman, Sarah Jessica Parker, Chris Rock, Mandy Patinkin, Matthew Broderick, Kenan Thompson, Patti Smith and more. The events will happen starting next week and then for 100 days leading into the summer. I think this is such a great idea. The performances will be broadcast online on social media so even if you're not there, you'll still be able to see them! I'm so happy it's a way for live entertainment to return, even in this small way. Hopefully by summertime we'll be ready to get back to concerts and shows!
