COIMBATORE: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) gets two-day custody of Haron Paul, 29, of Achipatti in connection with the Pollachi sexual assault case.
CBI officials filed a petition before the district mahila court, Friday, seeking five days of custody for Haron Paul. The petition came up for hearing on Monday and a team of city police led by inspector Deivasigamani produced Haron Paul before the district mahila court from Gobichettipalayam sub-jail.
Judge Nandhini Devi granted two days of custody, following which the CBI officials took him to an undisclosed place for further interrogation.
K Arulanandam, 34, of Vadugapalayam, P Babu alias Bike Babu, 27, and Haron Paul were arrested by CBI on January 6 for their involvement in a gang rape. Sources said, Arulanadam and Babu cooperated with CBI for investigation but Haron Paul failed to do so.
