Political party inspired by 'Star Wars' seeks recognition

DOVER, Del. (AP) — If you know anything about “Star Wars” beyond the fact that Darth Vader is Luke Skywalker’s father, there’s a good chance you know what a Mandalorian is.
Even if you don’t, you might still be familiar with Grogu, better known as Baby Yoda, from the popular Disney show “The Mandalorian.”
The series, which follows a proud bounty hunter belonging to the same secretive warrior society as Boba Fett, has been a hit, and Mandalorians have since gone mainstream.
And now, it’s influenced the creation of a political party. Yes, a political party — even though its founder acknowledges there’s an element of absurdity to it.
