Police warning to stay away from Rivington due to weather

Police are warning residents to stay away from the Rivington area due to poor conditions.
Chorley Police are urging people to stay away from Rivington for the rest of the weekend after snow and ice made for dangerous driving and walking conditions.
A number of roads could potentially be closed by police after a number of cars got stuck or slid off due to icy conditions.
Sheep House Lane, which leads to Belmont, was a particular problem for vehicles, with Chorley Police currently working with Lancashire County Council to look to close Sheep House Lane, Rivington Road (outside the Black Dog pub), Knowsley Lane, Higher House Lane and Dean Head Lane.
