While executing multiple search warrants throughout Tyrone Borough, law enforcement agencies located nearly $7,000 worth of illicit drugs, a loaded handgun and about $2,650 in cash, Tyrone Borough police reported.
Tyrone resident Richard A. Ewing, 42, was taken into custody as a result of the operation, a Blair County Drug Task Force news release stated.
Police approached Ewing after he exited his home about 5 p.m. Wednesday while agents from the Pennsylvania Attorney General’s Office conducted a warranted search of Ewing’s residence on the 1300 block of Blair Avenue, court documents stated.
While searching Ewing’s person, police discovered he was carrying a bag, which contained 2 ounces of methamphetamine, $330 in cash, a bag containing psilocybin mushrooms and a loaded handgun, a criminal complaint stated. Ewing’s prior criminal record prohibits him from possessing a firearm in Pennsylvania, according to court documents.
