Kentucky State Police said that a man injured in an officer-involved shooting early Saturday morning in Newport has life-threatening injuries, according to a report from Enquirer Media Partner Fox19.
The man pointed a handgun in the face of a Boone County sheriff’s deputy early Sunday morning, but the deputy was able to push the weapon away. The man then pointed the gun at another deputy before fleeing, according to the sheriff's office in a release Sunday.
A police pursuit ensued after Kenton County Police attempted a traffic stop on a vehicle matching the description of the one that fled the first scene, the Fox 19 report said.
