An Ottawa police patrol officer, who sources say is under investigation by the Special Investigations Unit for an allegation of sexual assault, has been quietly suspended from duty with pay with not even the general force being informed.
After questions from this newspaper, the Ottawa Police Service confirmed Tuesday that Const. Sundeep Singh has been suspended from duty, but refused to say effective when. A suspension “general order,” which is sent to all police personnel informing them of any suspension, was never issued. The service also refused to detail why this internal protocol wasn’t followed.
