Police officer probed after allegedly ‘slapping’ blind woman in the face
It is alleged that a 46-year-old blind woman was slapped numerous times on her face by a police officer in the Free State on Sunday.
The Independent Police Investigative Directorate (IPID) is investigating an assault incident which allegedly occurred on Sunday the 14 February 2021 in Phuthaditjhaba, Free State. It is alleged that a 46-year-old blind woman was slapped numerous times on her face by the police officer.

“As alleged, the police officers were at their house to arrest other two people for other transgressions, the 46-year-old heard the screaming and crying of her 32-year-old sister. As she reached out to check what was happening, she heard slaps,” said IPID National Spokesperson Ndileka Cola.
