Police: Murder suspect arrested on gun charge day before killing
MUNCIE, Ind. —  A day before he allegedly killed a local man with a shotgun, a Muncie man was arrested on a firearms-related charge.
Brandon C. Hodge, 28, of the 300 block of North Hodson Avenue, is charged with murder and two other crimes in last week's slaying of Robert Eugene "Trey" Scott III.
City police said the 33-year-old Scott was fatally shot — about 4:40 a.m. on Feb. 28 — in a backyard near the victim's home in the 2200 block of West Ninth Street.
Scott's former girlfriend — Morgan L. Bell, 26 — also is charged in the homicide.
