Police: Lincoln woman says boyfriend attacked her with a hatchet, held her captive for hours

Lincoln police say a woman was attacked by her boyfriend and held captive for hours.Police were called to South 45th Street on Feb. 4 around 10:30 a.m.The alleged victim told police that her boyfriend, 29-year-old Nathan Ueding, had assaulted her and not allowed her to leave her home for several hours.According to a police report, Ueding struck the woman with a hatchet. Officers noted significant bruising all over the woman's body. She told them that she feared for her life during the assault. Officers served a search warrant at the house and discovered a hammer, hatchet and corroborating evidence of the assault. Around 7 p.m., officers were told Ueding was sitting outside of the victim's workplace.Ueding was taken into custody and arrested for second-degree assault, use of a deadly weapon to commit a felony, strangulation, terroristic threats and first-degree false imprisonment.
