But as the police approached the apartment, the woman appeared outside unhurt.
It was all a misunderstanding. She had not been stabbed but instead texted her father to let her know she was being swabbed at a local clinic in Neenah, near Menasha, for Covid-19 after feeling unwell.
The woman's phone had autocorrected the word 'swabbed' and changed it to 'stabbed' in the text to her father without her noticing.
'She said it was fine and it was all a misunderstanding,' Menasha police officer Nick Oleszak told Green Bay Press Gazette.
The woman realised her mistake in the text message while she was at the clinic and found out police were outside her home.
