Police busts international & another inter-state drug smuggling in Punjab
Hoshiarpur, Apr 3 (UNI) The district police Hoshiarpur Saturday claimed to have busted one
international and another inter-state gang of drug smugglers by arresting six people in
two separate incidents.
The police recovered 8 Kg heroin, having market value of about Rs 40 crore, five Kg poppy husk, Rs. 20 lakhs drug money, a Fortuner Car and a Scorpio jeep from them.
Addressing mediapersons here Saturday afternoon, SSP, Hoshiarpur, Navjot Singh Mahal said police was tipped-off that some people were smuggling huge quantity of Heroin in white colour Fortuner car from Jammu and Kashmir.
A special nakabandi (check-post) had been erected by ASP, Garhshankar, Tushar Kumar Gupta and DSP, NDPS Hoshiarpur, Prem Singh at village Thuana on Mahilpur-Phagwara road Friday night to nab the drug smugglers. Police intercepted a white colour aforesaid Car on the said nakabandi. During search of the car police seized 8 kg heroin, packed in 8 packets, hidden in a cavity created near the radiator beneath the front bonnet of the vehicle.
