• Roxanne R. Vanersvelde, 59, of Newton, was charged with violation of no contact order and operating while under the influence second offense at 3:43 p.m. Dec. 8 in the 400 block of North Third Avenue East. According to the Newton Police Department, Vanersvelde reported to the NPD she was being followed by the victim. The victim called the police a few minutes later saying Vanersvelde was parked in the middle of the road near the residence and was being aggressive. A argument ensued and when officers arrived, the victim showed police a cell phone video recurring of Vanersvelde during the argument. She was seen approaching the victim and her car. A check Vanersvelde’s information showed an active protection order forbidding her from being near the victim or residence. Vanersvelde was arrested and taken to jail.
