PETALING JAYA: A 34-year-old man has been arrested after leading police on a high-speed pursuit through PJ Old Town here.
Images and videos of the pursuit have been circulating on social media and WhatsApp, showing the Proton Saga driven recklessly with the police hot on its tail.
Petaling Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Mohamad Fakhrudin Abdul Hamid said the incident occurred at around 6.40pm on Wednesday.
“Policemen on their patrols were conducting a snap check along Jalan 18/16 here when they stopped a car driven by a man.
“When they attempted to check the vehicle, the suspect sped off and the police gave chase, ” he said in a statement yesterday.
