One person has died after a two-car accident Monday morning on Interstate 95 near Hardeeville, police said.
Hardeeville Police Chief Sam Woodward said a call about the accident near Exit 5 came in around 11:34 a.m. He said a vehicle had been traveling south, crossed over the median and struck a pickup truck that had been traveling north head-on.
Woodward said the passenger in the first vehicle died. The driver was transported to Memorial Health University Medical Center in Savannah for treatment.
"The two people who had been traveling in the truck had been injured, but not seriously, and they were not transported to the hospital," he said.
