Tony Hooton urged councillors to invest in more maintenance to look after the town centre flagship amenity.
Speaking during the open forum at last night's Winsford Town Council meeting, Mr Hooton praised volunteer John Malam and the Friends of Winsford Town Park, who regularly weed, plant bulbs and tidy litter.
"My main concern is the small amount of resources put into keeping on top of maintenance. As fast as John and his gang are working, more weeds are growing. It is meant to be a prestige park for the town. I'm afraid it doesn't look like it.
