Playhouse launches world premiere of 'The Outsiders'

The La Jolla Playhouse's next world premiere is a musical adaptation of S.E. Hinton's beloved 1967 novel about rival gangs of teenagers grappling with class warfare, belonging, aggression and tenderness. "I hope this goes everywhere. And even more than Broadway, I hope this goes into high schools all over the country," said director Danya Taymor.
