The developer has amended its planning application submitted last year for commercial units on land adjacent to the Stockport industrial estate, a scheme that would have increased the park’s footprint by 1.2m sq ft.
It is understood that Quorum scaled back its plans following consultation with officers at Stockport Council. The proposal to expand Bredbury Gateway was the subject of a row between Stockport and Tameside councils earlier this year, as the estate lies on the border of the two boroughs.
The site in question spans 76 acres between the industrial park and the River Tame and has long been earmarked for redevelopment, including in the much-delayed Greater Manchester Spatial Framework.
