Mad Pies Restaurant & Bar in Fultondale is hosting an all-day concert today to raise money for people whose lives were affected by a Jan. 25 tornado that tore through the city and left a trail of destruction.
A 14-year-old boy was killed and at least 30 people were injured in the storm. More than 300 homes and businesses were damaged or destroyed, according to Fultondale Fire Chief Justin McKenzie.
Mad Pies, 1731 Decatur Highway, wants to help the community recover with proceeds from its Southern Sound Benefit Showcase, which starts at 2 p.m. Country, rock and Southern rock musicians are scheduled to perform until midnight at the restaurant, including Driver, Matt Bennett, Len Park and Ben Moseley.
