PITTSFORD, N.Y. (WHEC) — The Village of Pittsford has a new mayor for the first time in nearly 20 years.
Democrat Alyssa Plummer defeated long-time incumbent Robert Corby, who was running on the village vision line.
This comes just weeks
after a controversy involving Corby and village trustee Dan Keating. Corby sent an email to Keating which referred to him as a "fecal maggot." Corby says the email was sent by mistake after he was venting some frustration over a newsletter Keating had written, which Corby says was dishonest.
Corby had served as the town's mayor since 1993.
