Collins, 62, was raised in south Rockford and was happy to get the word out.
“I’m invested in this neighborhood, and I want to make the people aware of the opportunities that Pilgrim has made available so they can get vaccinated and hopefully get a little more protection against the virus,” Collins said. “Information is power. If you can give people the right information, I think people will generally do right when they know right.”
The boots on the ground informational campaign kicked off on Tuesday and the results have been positive, Emerson said.
“Most of the people that come to the door say they’ve already had the vaccine, so we encourage them to take the flier and give it to some family members of friends,” he said.
