A severe thunderstorm and dust storm warning were issued for Phoenix and other parts of Maricopa County on Saturday evening as more than 10,000 customers were impacted by power outages across the state.
The warnings were issued during the late afternoon and evening on Saturday, which started out in the morning with low temperatures that only fell to 90 degrees in Phoenix.
If that low temperature holds, it would be the eighth day this year with a low of 90 degrees or more. The record for most days with a low of more than 90 degrees through July 10 was reported at seven back in 2013, according to the National Weather Service in Phoenix.
