Philly police say they need more money for Taser roll out after Kenney releases budget proposal

Mayor Jim Kenney proposed city's budget for the 2022 fiscal year would freeze the Philadelphia Police Department's spending at $727 million for the second year in a row. Philadelphia police said the department needs more money in order to continue its five-year plan to equip all officers with Tasers, and the department's leads plan to request more money from the city in order to keep the program on track, spokesperson Sgt. Eric Gripp said.
