Phil Spector, American record producer of the 1960s, described by writer Tom Wolfe as the ‘First Tycoon of Teen.’ He used orchestral arrangements of immense scale and power in what became known as the wall of sound. In 2009 he was sentenced to 19 years in prison for the murder of an actress.
