A new petrol station and convenience store has been given the go-ahead at a spot on the edge of the Beverley Westwood.
The decision marks the end of a long-running saga after a large number of objections were received about the proposal for a BP station and Marks and Spencer food store at the Killinwoldgraves roundabout between Beverley and Bishop Burton.
It was also described by councillors as "an alien feature which would detrimentally harm the intrinsic character of the countryside and landscape".
