Peterhead Port Authority has succeeded in continuing its operations despite the limitations imposed due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
While the temporary closure of some overseas markets, combined with a reduction in demand from domestic outlets, resulted in lower fish landings, the market did not cease functioning.
PPA chief executive Simon Brebner said: “It is a testament to the dedication and commitment of the entire seafood sector that this vital link in the seafood chain has remained operational during the Covid-19 pandemic.
“Challenges have been faced and met each week to ensure that Peterhead Fish Market remained the focal point of whitefish landings in the UK and Europe.”
