People over 60 years of age living in Machu Picchu district, located in Cusco's Urubamba Province, will be immunized against COVID-19 between May 11 and 12, as part of the safe economy and tourism rebound promoted by the Regional Government of Cusco.
According to Cusco Governor Jean Paul Benavente, brigade members from the health sector will administer 500 Pfizer vaccines to the elderly and vulnerable population in the district of Machu Picchu Town and surrounding peasant communities.
The regional authority noted that the early inoculation of this population group is part of a commitment made at a recent meeting with the Ministry of Culture (Mincul) and the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Tourism (Mincetur).
