Peru's Congress banned former president Martín Vizcarra, following allegations of receiving the COVID-19 vaccine by jumping and cutting the queue for the said jab. The former president of the country was banned by the members of the congress in a unanimous vote of 86, Reuters reported.
It can be remembered that the ex-president was reported to receive two shots of COVID-19 vaccines in October 2020. Apart from Vizcarra, his family, government consultants, cabinet members, and lobbyists also received the COVID-19 jab despite the vaccine queue. The vaccine scandal in Peru was called "vaccine-gate."

Because of the unanimous decision anchored from the vaccine scandal he has participated in, Reuters noted that the Peruvian Congress temporarily banned Vizcarra from taking public office for about 10 years.
