The nighttime curfew in Metropolitan Lima and Callao region —which currently begins at 11:00 p.m.— will be brought forward to 9:00 p.m. as both areas face a high-level risk linked to a second COVID-19 wave, Peruvian Prime Minister Violeta Bermudez announced on Wednesday.
At a press conference from the Government Palace,
it was also announced that in Metropolitan Lima and Callao the use of private vehicles will be restricted on Sundays.
Both measures will be in force from January 15 to 31. Later, these will be reviewed to decide whether they are lifted or remain in force.
