Victoria Cardenas, 95, was the first citizen in this area to receive the vaccine dose.
Meanwhile, adults over 80 years of age —who have mobility problems— are inoculated at home by health brigades in charge of this task.
In this sense, Geresa Lambayeque Manager Felix Garcia affirmed that the virtual platform is already enabled for older adults —with disabilities or difficulties to travel to vaccination centers— to sign up and receive a visit from health staff.
Garcia indicated that the five districts were prioritized in accordance with population density and degree of affectation due to COVID-19.
"There are three days scheduled for the application of the dose, and an additional day could be included for the benefit of those people who could not get vaccinated on the scheduled date," he said.
