Perth County municipalities receive funding boost for community hubs

The federal and provincial governments released a list of 35 Ontario municipalities in line for infrastructure funds Tuesday, and local projects in West Perth, Perth South, and Perth East are included.

The largest of the three is a roughly $1.3-million plan to build a new multi-use pavilion near the ball diamonds in Mitchell’s Keterson Park, a project West Perth Mayor Walter McKenzie said the community has been discussing since at least 2016.
“We’ve been waiting for this for quite a while,” he said. “We’ve looked at other municipalities that have these multi-use facilities and certainly they’re a great asset.”
