WEATHERSFIELD — New rules approved by township trustees will give residents peace of mind when a stranger knocks on the door.
A new resolution requiring door-to-door salespeople to register and obtain a permit before going door to door was passed at a meeting this week.
“The intent is to have a finger on who is knocking on doors and gives us the ability to know who they are,” Trustee Steve Gerberry said.
He said those interested in this form of selling would need to apply for a permit so the township can be made aware and alert the residents that people may be knocking on the door.
