Something seems a little different these days about the comments Palm Beach pastry chef Veselinka “Vesna” Capric hears about her desserts.
Perhaps they're a little louder, more emphatic.
“I don’t know what it is, but you can hear how important it is now when people say, `Thank you for these moments of joy,’” said Capric, head pastry chef for Renato’s and its Via Mizner sister eateries. “I have always felt blessed for this appreciation, but especially now. Moments of joy mean so much.”
A spectacular dessert won’t change anything about the coronavirus pandemic, but for a sliver of time it can do what it always tends to do: bring pleasure or evoke sweet memories.
