Following a weeklong stretch of perfect beach weather, Escambia and Santa Rosa counties should brace for two days of rain Monday and Tuesday and potentially severe weather Wednesday.
Cody Lindsey, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Mobile, Alabama, told the News Journal on Monday that the western Florida Panhandle can expect to see between one-tenth of an inch to a quarter of an inch of rain Monday and Tuesday as stormy weather starts to roll in from the west.
Starting at about 9 or 10 a.m. Wednesday and lasting into the late evening hours, a strong system is slated to bring every kind of severe weather risk to the area, including potential tornadoes, hail and straight-line wind events, in addition to about an inch or more of rain.
