Nobles is accused of hitting the woman while driving a blue Ford Mustang at about 9 a.m. April 7 in the 5400 block of Mobile Highway and then fleeing the scene.
Later that day, troopers announced they were searching for a 2004 or 2005 blue Mustang that likely had visible damage caused by the impact.
The following day, troopers said they had located the car and Nobles had turned himself in to authorities. He was not arrested or charged at the time, and the case remained under investigation through the weekend as FHP continued to build its case.
"We tracked down a witness who was able to confirm a lot of the evidence," King told the News Journal on Tuesday. "That witness statement corroborated the evidence that we already had on the scene and helped solidify the charges in the arrest."
