MEHOOPANY, Pennsylvania — A helicopter scheduled to land at the Bradford County Airport in Towanda crashed in rural northeastern Pennsylvania, killing a Guthrie Robert Packer Hospital doctor, according to a report.
The Morning Call newspaper in Allentown spoke with Usha Kansara and she said a Robinson R44 helicopter piloted by her husband, Dr. Sanjay Kansara, crashed in a remote area of Wyoming County.
Kansara is listed as an anesthesiologist on the hospital's website. He lived in Upper Saucon Township and used the helicopter to commute to his job in Sayre, according to The Morning Call.
The wreckage of the private aircraft was found in Wyoming County on Thursday night after the Federal Aviation Administration issued an alert about a missing aircraft, the agency said.
