Penn Medicine, Virtua Health's new proton therapy cancer treatment center in Voorhees will be first in South Jersey

Penn Medicine and Virtua Health expect to open their new $45 million proton therapy center in Voorhees in early 2023. The treatment facility will be the first site in South Jersey to offer the promising cancer treatment. Proton therapy is a relatively new type of radiation treatment that's used to treat cancers as well as some benign tumors. It's associated with fewer severe side effects than traditional radiation treatment.
