The Mustangs lost their first four games of the season but went into their matchup with the Warhawks off of a win over Greene County. PCM fought back and forth with North Mahaska throughout the game until the Mustangs pulled away thanks to Grant Landgrebe knocking down five consecutive free throws. The Mustangs won, 54-50. Andrew Mitchell led the way with 17 points, six rebounds, four assists, and five steals.
The win led the Mustangs to win ten of their next 17 games, including victories over East Marshall, South Hardin, and Woodward-Granger in the playoffs. The Mustangs finished 11-11 with a substate semifinal loss to Des Moines Christian.
