Expect strict security measures in all ports in the coming days as the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) said on Wednesday, March 3, that it will implement measures to secure travellers for the Holy Week.
“We are preparing our K9 units, harbor patrollers, ship inspectors, and medical teams to ensure the safety, security, and convenience of our sea going public,” said PCG commandant Admiral George Ursabia Jr. in a virtual presser.

“We are also mastering our coastal security and rescue personnel to be deployed in marine tourist destinations,” he added.
Ursabia Jr. said more people are expected to travel this Holy Week compared to the Christmas season last year due to more relaxed travel restrictions. He said Coast Guard vessels and air assets are ready for operations if needed.
