PALM BEACH GARDENS — The Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office on Tuesday identified the 29-year-old man who was fatally shot on Interstate 95 last week near Donald Ross Road.
Christopher Michael Maassen of Stuart died after being shot during an altercation between two men Friday. The other man neither has been identified nor charged in the shooting as of Tuesday afternoon, according to the sheriff's office.
At about 2 p.m. Friday, law-enforcement officers were called to the scene of the shooting, the highway's northbound lanes near the Donald Ross Road exit at the Jupiter-Palm Beach Gardens border.
Maassen died at the scene, while the other man was detained for questioning. PBSO took over the investigation from the Florida Highway Patrol.
