Paul Mescal on his chemistry with Daisy Edgar-Jones: 'We spent a week together before rehearsals'

Paul Mescal has spoken candidly about his chemistry with his Normal People co-star Daisy Edgar-Jones, saying: 'I could not have asked for a better partner.'
Speaking during an online panel discussion ahead of the BAFTA TV Awards on Sunday, Paul, 25, revealed he and Daisy, 23, 'spent a week together' before rehearsals.
The actor - who appeared alongside some of his fellow nominees for leading actor - including Small Axe's Shaun Parkes, Baghdad Central's Waleed Zuaiter and I May Destroy You's Paapa Essiedu - explained: 'We didn't do a huge amount of standard rehearsal. We spent about a week together prior and talked about the character and would touch on scenes.'
