Parts of east and east-central Saskatchewan including Yorkton, Melville, Nipawin, Melfort, Humboldt, Esterhazy and Hudson Bay are under a snowfall warning.
Environment Canada says the first of a pair of low pressure systems will begin affecting southern Saskatchewan Saturday night bringing significant precipitation to the northeastern grainbelt. Most areas will see a period of rain overnight or Sunday morning, but as temperatures cool, heavy snow is expected to set in through the day and continue into Sunday night. This first wave of moisture will bring 15 to 25 cm of snow to the area by early Monday.
