DARTMOUTH — The partial skull that was found on Little Beach in Dartmouth is indeed human.
Timothy McGuirk, spokesperson for the Executive Office of Public Safety and Security, said the state's chief medical examine has confirmed that the skull is "human, probably that of an adult or young adult male."
"The cause of death is undetermined at this time, and drawing further conclusions will likely require additional evidence," McGuirk added.
The partial skull was found on Little Beach on Horseneck Road on Jan. 3 after a passerby discovered what appeared to be a sizeable fragment of an aged human skull in the sand, according to a press release from Dartmouth Police.
