A parish council has been forced to plead with villagers not to put erotic fiction in a communal library.
A small village set in the rolling countryside of the Bourne Valley has been marred by controversy this week after “salacious adult literature” was found in a recently converted telephone box.
Several “inappropriate” books had to be removed from the kiosk, which sits next to a school playground in the village of Hurstbourne Tarrant, in the heart of the North Wessex Downs - Britain's third largest Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
