Andrew Martindale, of Fairlee Road, Newport, appeared before the Isle of Wight Crown Court yesterday (Tuesday).
At a previous hearing on June 14, he admitted making indecent images of a child, between March 27, 2015, and May 21, 2018.
Prosecutor, Roderick Blain, told the court police were called to Martindale's address in relation to a series of charges which have since been dropped.
He said two computers and two telephones were seized, with one image found on a phone and another two on one of the laptops.
The court heard the two images contained on the laptop were likely sourced from the internet, and the third was attached to a message.
