Chief Executive Officer of United Airlines finally acknowledges he (and the airline) “messed up.”
Oscar Munoz initially defended the carrier’s actions and lambasted the passenger who refused to give up his seat and was dragged off the plane.
Then Munoz reluctantly apologized. Then he apologized again. And again. Then Munoz grudgingly acknowledged that his response, in which he blamed the passenger and approved of his employees actions, was “insensitive beyond belief.”
Then it was time for damage control.
