"The adoption of flexible work arrangements (aims) to boost the morale and enhance the welfare of government officials and employees by giving them the opportunity to accomplish their tasks through appropriate work arrangements increasing employee productivity and performance, and allowing work-life balance," said Mayor Leopoldo Bataoil in Executive Order No. 31 obtained by the Philippine News Agency on Thursday. From the 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mondays to Fridays schedule, the working hours of the employees under the Office of the Mayor, Sangguniang Bayan Legislative, Sangguniang Bayan Secretariat, Office of the Municipal Administrator, Human Resource Management Office, Office of the Municipal Planning and Development Coordinator, Municipal Budget Office, Municipal Accounting Office, Municipal Information Office, Municipal Legal Office, Municipal Agriculture Office, General Services Office, and Municipal Tourism Office will be from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Mondays to Thursdays. The Municipal Registrar Office, Municipal Treasurer's Office, Municipal Assessor's Office, Municipal Engineering Office, and Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office, on the other hand, will implement a compressed work week and skeleton workforce. "They shall render work from Mondays to Fridays from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. provided that only a skeleton workforce shall render work on Mondays and Fridays as scheduled by the department head," Bataoil said. He added that the employees should be able to render 40 working hours a week. However, the three rural health units in the town will still observe the regular working hours from Mondays to Fridays 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The market and slaughterhouse will also continue to operate the regular hours as well as the security and Public Order and Safety Office, and the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council, which operates 24 hours a day. Bataoil also mandated that the Municipal Environment and Natural Resources should ensure that the market, street, and plaza cleaners maintain cleanliness seven days a week from 5 a.m. to 11 p.m. and that the garbage from the public market, major roads, and baywalk, among others, are collected daily.
