Pandemic stories: Sam Rou & Company Barber Shop in Ocala saved customers from home haircuts

The barbershop, operated since 1964 by Sam Rou until his death in 2019, is now owned by his daughter, Tanya Rou-Oram, who is Kristen Henson’s mother.
The shop relocated from the Ocala Shopping Center to its current location, 2172 E. Silver Springs Blvd., Ocala, in 2016.
Oram joked that the closure may be responsible for the return of the "mullet" hairdo for men.
"Customers let their hair grow and they liked it," she quipped.
Oram said her sense of humor helped her weather the difficult times. 
Henson said many of her customers are "like family" and were cheerfully welcomed back. 
Oram said the enhanced cleaning measures added perhaps five to seven minutes between customers.
