PANAMA CITY — With the help of the Bay County Council on Aging, the Panama City Police Department spread holiday cheer to seniors Friday amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
With Christmas around the corner, police officers delivered gift baskets and bags to 20 seniors as part of the council's Senior Santa Program.
For Lorine Jenkins, a Panama City resident and the police department's first stop of the day, the emotion of having the gifts hand-delivered to her doorstep could be summed up in two simple words — "I'm happy."
Jenkins said the day was a nice change of pace in a year plagued with many challenges caused by the coronavirus.
