The two-vehicle crash shut down the northbound lanes of the bridge into the Monday morning commute.
The northbound lanes of the Glenn L. Jackson Bridge reopened Monday morning, March 8, after an overnight crash that killed two drivers.
Names of the victims were not immediately released.
The two-vehicle crash Interstate 205 bridge between Oregon and Washington was reported around 1 a.m. March 8. The Oregon Department of Transportation said one of the vehicles was traveling in the wrong direction.
According to Portland police, officers arrived to find one car "engulfed by flames." Both drivers died at the scene.
Portland's Major Crash Team is investigating the crash. Anyone with information about the crash is urged to call the police non-emergency line, 503-823-3333, and reference incident number 21-62137.
